A drum consists not only of the actual drum
heads and the cymbals – there are lots of other accessories that you need to
pay attention to. Here are some other items that are also essential parts of
drum sets:
- -Stands – the drum heads as
well as the cymbals are placed on metal stands. When you choose the components
of your set, you need to pay special attention to the size of the stand – just
like the drums, the stands also need to match your height and other physical
givens; - -Rods, sticks and brushes –
most drum sticks are approximately the same length, but they are different in
terms of weight, 5A being the marking used for average sized sticks that work
great for most beginner drummers; sticks and rods also come in different sizes
and shapes, so you should take your time to experiment with them; - -Stick holders – sticks do
break sometimes, so you will need a holder or a bag where you can keep spare
sticks in case the one in your hands gives in; - -A stand for your sheet music –
you can tape your music on the floor, but it is uncomfortable, so it is a good
idea to invest into a stand to hold your music sheets.
